Andrejs Fraimanis, board chairman at the sandwich producer Lango, whose enterprising, initiative and expertise has made Lango an ever-growing company with a vast range of products, had the highest score, writes LETA.

Bauskas alus brewery's director Daiga Solzemniece will receive the award for popularizing the "Product of the Year" trademark and increasing Bauskas alus sales volume.

Brewery Cesu alus board chairwoman Eva Sietinsone-Zatlere also contributed greatly to the development of her company last year. In 2009, Cesu alus launched the production of cider, and increased its beer market share in Latvia by 2.5 percent. Cesu alus will also be awarded as a socially-responsible enterprise and the best employer in Vidzeme province.

The award also goes to Staburadzes konditoreja confectionery's food technologist Liene Jansone: a top specialist and production manager, as well as loyal employee, which has been proved by the high quality and popularity of such products as the cakes "Cielavina", "Skudru puznis", "Siera kuka" and many others. The title of "Product of the Year 2009" will be be bestowed upon "Pedro Pizza with Bacon", which is another creation by Jansone.

This year, the awards will be presented by the Economy Ministry's State Secretary Juris Puce and the Merchants' Association President Henriks Danusevics.
