From today, it will be possible to check-in online for airBaltic flights to Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm, LETA was informed by the airline.

Up until now, online registration was only available for airBaltic flights from Riga to Vilnius, Zurich, Vienna, Bergen and Stavanger.

airBaltic is working very hard on making sure that travelling for our passengers is as convenient as possible. Now there are nine cities in which people can check-in for their airBaltic flights online, and we are going to increase the number of such cities in a targeted way. This is particularly convenient in the summer, when the number of travelers increases. Passengers can now avoid having to stand in long queues before departure at the check-in counter,'' said airBaltic Vice President of Corporate Communications Janis Vanags.

Web check-in has been available for airBaltic flights since August 1, 2007. The Web check-in services are very convenient, allowing passengers to save time by checking in, selecting their seat and printing out their boarding pass – all on the Internet.

Passengers who have used online check-in can leave their baggage at a dedicated counter when arriving at the airport. At the ''Riga'' airport, this is between the business class and economy class check-in counters. Passengers who only have carry-on baggage may go directly to the security inspection and then on to their flight. Baggage will not be accepted later than 30 minutes before departure, and passengers must arrive at the gate no later than 20 minutes before the flight.

As reported, last year, the net profit of Latvia's national airline airBaltic decreased threefold, dropping to LVL 1.24 million, compared to LVL 4.06 million in 2006.

airBaltic posted LVL 159.43 million in turnover last year, which is a 38% increase, compared with 2006. The number of passengers increased 41% in 2007 and reached two million.
