Vitalijs Gavrilovs sells 11.3% Grindeks shares to Russian Farmstandart

The Russian pharmaceuticals company Farmstandart has become an 11.3% shareholder in Grindeks, according to an announcement by the NASDAQ OMX Riga Stock Exchange. Vitalijs Gavrilovs, who with his 11.3% stake has until now been one of the largest shareholders in Grindeks, confirmed to the business portal Nozare.lv that he had sold his shares to Farmstandart.

However, he declined to give more detailed comment on the matter.
According to the stock exchange announcement, Farmstandart was not previously a shareholder in Grindex.
The sum of the deal is not known.
The other Grindex shareholders with a stake above 5% are Kirovs Lipmans with a 33.29% stake, Anna Lipmane with 16.69%, Skandinavska Enskilda Banken with 9.93%, and Swedbank with 7.24%, writes LETA.
Grindex Chairman Janis Romanovskis indicated that Farmstandart is the market leader in the Russian pharmaceutical industry, and since 2008 has been one of the most significant cooperation partners for Grindex as the distributor of the product "Mildronate" on the Russian market.
