Open house for Latvian MPs at "Livu Akvaparks" on February 27

The popular Jurmala aquatic fun park "Livu Akvaparks" is holding an open house Saturday, February 27, for Saeima deputies, in order to promote broadening the concept of tourism and re-evaluating taxes in the sector thereof.

The open house will take place between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m., and "Cabinet ministers are welcome too", as a statement to the press notes.

"Livu Akvaparks" has high regard for those MPs advocating reduction of value-added tax from the current 21% to 10% for hotels, but it also supports tax cuts in the sector across the board, writes LETA.

"Livu Akvaparks" Executive Director Velta Lasmane commented to Nozare.lv: "Right now it appears that Saeima deputies are being urged to award favorable status to hotels alone." She added that is unfair to "discriminate" against other tourism objects that are important Europe-wide – restaurants, and amusement parks, like "Livu Akvaparks", "that has no equal in Latvia in terms of drawing crowds."
