Public Vikerraadio is the favorite radio station in Estonia in 2009

According to EMOR’s radio listening poll, Estonians listened in 2009 to the public radio Vikerraadio most while non-Estonians listened to the public radio station Raadio 4, Äripäev Online/LETA reports.

An average of 42% of Estonians listened to Vikerraadio every week in 2009 and the public broadcasting’s biggest radio programme had an average of 330,000 listeners per week.

 

As to the amount of listeners, Vikerraadio was followed by commercial stations Sky Plus with 293,000 and Raadio Elmar with 272,000 listeners a week.

 

Among Russian-language radio stations, national broadcasting’s Raadio 4 was listened to every week in 2009 by an average of 53% of non-Estonian population or by an average of 193,000 listeners a week. It was followed by Russkoje Radio with 174,000 and Sky Raadio with 143,000 listeners a week.

 

In 2009, Estonian inhabitants listened for nearly 4 hours a day of radio, a bit less than in earlier years.
