Editorial boards of Latvian newspapers Dienas Bizness and Diena merged

Merger of the editorial boards of the newspapers Dienas Bizness and Diena is under way, however, newspapers Diena, Dienas Bizness and the magazine "Lietiska Diena" will remain separate publications, Dienas Bizness editor in chief and the acting editor in chief for Diena, Dace Andersone, said in an interview to the business information Website "Nozare.lv".

Andersone underlines that the merger will affect the editorial boards of Dienas Bizness and Diena, but not the newspapers themselves, repirts LETA.

 

"Journalists working for Dienas Bizness can contribute with their knowledge to the contents of Diena and vice versa. Already at the moment some articles for the newspaper Diena and the Website "diena.lv" are written by Dienas Bizness staff," Andersone informed.

 

Andersone says that merger of the editorial boards will not imply layoffs, on the contrary, job interviews are currently being held in order to find new journalists for Diena.

 

As reported, several leading journalists quit Diena after October 9 events.

 

By November 9, the Dienas Bizness publishing house will have transferred to the premises of the Dienas Mediji Publishing House at 15 Mukusalas Street.
