Finnish Saarioinen opens new plant in Estonia

The plant located in the vicinity of Rapla cost 14 million euros to build and has a total area of 6,000 square metres. It is expected to employ up to 100 people who have all undergone comprehensive training in the Saarioinen Group in Finland.
Construction works on the new plant in Rapla began in December 2008. The investment came from own funds of the Saarioinen Group. The general contractor for the project was AS YIT Ehitus.
Saarioinen Eesti that is owned by Saarioinen produces ready-made foods. Saarioinen is the leading privately owned food manufacturer in Finland and is the market leader in the segment of ready-made foods and several other food products. Saarioinen started its operations in 1953 and became a joint-stock company in 1955. The company employs 2,000 people and in 2009 had the turnover of around 350 million euros.
