Three suspects detained in probe into hacking of Lithuanian beauty clinic

Print versionThree suspects were detained in Lithuania's second-biggest city of Kaunas on Wednesday as part of a probe into stealing of patients' records from the cosmetic surgery clinic Grozio Chirurgija, police said on August 31st, cites LETA/BNS.

"We are certain that these people played a role in the stealing of the
data and extortion of money from Lithuanian and foreign nationals," Deputy
Police Commissioner General Edvardas
Sileris said at a news conference.
"The investigation is large-scale and complex. Yes, all of them
(suspects) are Lithuanian nationals," he said.
Hackers stole personal information of the clinic's clients and photos
before and after procedures. It is suspected that the hackers demanded money
from Lithuanian and foreign nationals for not making their personal data
public.
