Today the Estonian supermarket chain Selver opened a new store on Rigas Street in Salaspils, as LETA was informed by the executive director of Selver Latvia, Uldis Priekulis.

The new store has over 1,700 square meters floor space and it will provide 45 new jobs for residents of Salaspils.

"The store in Salaspils and the previously opened ["Selver"] retail outlets in Ogre, Rezekne, Kuldiga and Daugavpils have created jobs for nearly 300 people over the last six months. Our nearest future plans include opening a store in Aizkraukle, which will most probably happen in May," Priekulis said.

Sunflower has been chosen as the logo for the "Selver" store in Salaspils, due to the shop's vicinity to the National Botanic Garden.

"Selver" is Estonian-owned chain of supermarkets, now also operating five stores in the territory of Latvia – in Salaspils, Daugavpils, Kuldiga, Ogre and Rezekne.
