Sergienko has replaced Fred Hrenchuk, who is leaving the company he has worked for for almost 9 years to pursue his personal goals, Bite said in a press release on Thursday.

"Nikita will continue to strengthen the company's positions in the Lithuanian and Latvian telecommunications markets and will implement Bite's strategy in the innovation, customer service quality and network development areas," Tony Ball, chairman of the group's management board and a senior advisor at Providence, said.

The new CEO said that the company saw new opportunities related to the rapid mobile Internet usage growth, the increasing significance of telecommunications and new technologies.

Sergienko had held the post of chief financial and technical officer at Bite since 2009. His previous career included CFO positions at Rambler Media Limited and Tele2 Russia.
