M. Kucinskis pointed out that it is important for the Baltic States to exchange views and expectations on a regular basis in order to develop the entire region at a global level. “The objectives cannot be achieved only through notification; therefore, it is important to learn from neighbouring countries to ensure development,” said M. Kucinskis.

It is also essential to establish a dialogue between business organizations and governments in order to discuss different ideas in a timely manner. "Our goal is to simplify and create a sustainable taxation system that would be able to boost the economy by at least 5% in 2018.”

During the meeting, the officials stressed the need to speed up the economic development of both countries, as well as to better counter the shadow economy. Representatives of business organizations noted that it is high time for the two countries to cooperate rather than compete with each other by jointly participating in the global market.

As already reported, M. Kucinskis is paying a visit to Tallinn to meet the Estonian Prime Minister T. Rõivas, participate in the meeting of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and visit the Digital Governance Exhibition Centre (e-Estonia showroom).
