BC, Vilnius, 13.06.2014.Print version
Bulgaria's AFCOS (Anti-Fraud Coordination Service) Directorate is paying a visit to the Ministry of Finance and other Lithuanian institutions to gain best practice experience in determining and investigating violations related to the EU funded projects, informs LETA/ELTA.

The Ministry of Finance is the institution managing the EU structural funds which has much experience administering violations of projects financed by the EU structural funds in Lithuania. Bulgarian delegation was interested in Lithuania's legislation on administering offences regarding projects funded by the EU, recovery of inappropriately used funds, and the Structural Funds Management Information System (SFMIS).

Bulgarian officers were especially interested in Lithuania's unified violation registration system as well as the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) procedures informing about offences, which is an example of successfully implemented best practice.

On Thursday the guests visited the Central Project Management Agency (CPVA) and Lithuanian Business Support Agency (LVPA) which register and investigate possible violations occurring during implementation of projects financed by the EU structural funds.
