E-elections in Estonia were won by Reform Party with strong lead

The Estonian Reform Party, which won the Sunday European Parliament elections in Estonia and got two out of Estonia's 6 Europarliament seats, scored a high result in the e-voting category too, LETA/Delfi reports.

32% of the people who cast their vote at the elections via the Internet voted for the Reform Party.

 

The Pro Patria and res Publica Union (IRL) was the second-most popular among e-voters, getting 19% of the votes while independent candidate Indrek Tarand gained 16% of the e-votes. Social Democrats received 15%, other independent candidates 8%, and the Centre Party, who conducted an active anti-e-voting campaign, 6% of the e-votes. 3% of the e-votes went to the Conservative People's Party and 5% to others.

 

Altogether 103,151 people e-voted.

 

In comparison, of the total election result, Reform Party collected 24.3% of all votes, Centre Party collected 22.3%, IRL 13.9%, Social Democratic Party 13.6% and independent candidate Indrek Tarand 13.2% of all votes.
