Estonia concludes diplomatic relations with Central African Republic

Print versionEstonia concluded diplomatic relations with Central African Republic (CAR) on Thursday in Brussels; Estonian prime minister Taavi Rõivasand CAR’s foreign minister Toussaint Kongo-Doudou signed the corresponding communique, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

Rõivas said at the same meeting with CAR’s President Catherine Samba-Panza and ministers accompanying her that Estonia observes the developments in CAR attentively.
“We hope that the security and humanitarian situation in your state improves,” said Rõivas. “Estonia will contribute with its military units to achieve that aim. Stopping violence and starting inter-community reconciliation process is of primary importance.”
Rõivas also had meetings with presidents of Ghana and Tunisia, prime minister of Namibia, deputy president of Angola and foreign minister of Botswana in the framework of the EU-African summit.
