Ttwo candidates for auditor general put in Latvia

BC, Riga, 09.01.2013.Print version
Taking into account that the government coalition was not able to agree on one candidate for auditor general, the coalition has put forward two candidates, LETA was informed by the Saeima's press service.

Unity has nominated Iveta Rutkovska – current board member and auditor at Larssen Donoway Inkens Ltd. and at I.Rutkovskas Birojs Ltd.. She previously worked as chief auditor at the company Balta in Central and Eastern Europe, and also worked at the State Audit Office from 1993 to 1996.

Meanwhile, the Reform Party and All for Latvia!-For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK will most likely nominate Elita Krumina, who is a current council member at the State Audit Office and the director of the office's Third Audit Department.

It seems that Krumina has the biggest chance of being elected to the post, as the opposition's Harmony Center said that it will vote for the candidate supported by current Auditor General Inguna Sudraba, which could very likely be Krumina.

As reported, yesterday, the ruling coalition did not agree on a candidate for the soon-to-be-vacant post of auditor general and will continue the discussion.

Current Auditor General Inguna Sudraba's second term in office will expire in the second half of January.
