Print versionUS Senate approved of the candidacy of Deborah Ann McCarthy to new US ambassador to Lithuania, told LETA/ELTA the US Embassy in Lithuania.

Once the candidacy of McCarthy has been approved, the diplomat and her team are expected in Lithuania soon.
Currently the US official is getting to know Lithuanian history and culture. The diplomat is also studying Lithuanian language.
McCarthy will hand in Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaite letters of credence and later on she will meet with Lithuanian society.
So far, the US Ambassador to Lithuania was Anne Derse.
