"I know that the European arrest warrant has been issued. I would like to be near my child during all the procedures that a similar situation to the one in Riga would not occur again. Nobody else will stand up for me and my child," Rinau told ELTA.

The woman stated that she had not contacted her ex-husband Michael Rinau and did not know whether she would be able to see Luisa. Michael lives near Berlin, and Inga will try to find Luisa there.

Klaipeda prosecutors have not received news yet about the detention of Michael Rinau, who departed to Germany with his daughter Luisa, Palmira Martinkiene, representative of Klaipeda District Prosecutor"s Office, told ELTA on Wednesday morning.

Klaipeda city local court on Tuesday permitted to detain German national Michael Rinau, who is suspected of arbitrariness and child"s kidnapping. He may be fined or imprisoned for up to three years for this.

A European arrest warrant has been issued for Rinau, who arrived in Germany with his daughter Luisa on Tuesday afternoon. The possibility that having evaluated circumstances Germany will not agree to extradite Rinau to Lithuania is not eliminated. In this case prosecutors may terminate the pre-trial investigation.

As reported, Michael Rinau took away Luisa from Lithuania on Monday. The girl"s mother Inga Rinau complained that the child was kidnapped and the police launched a pre-trial investigation and announced a search for the girl. On Tuesday morning, Michael Rinau was detained with their daughter in Riga Airport, however, later they were permitted to depart. Jevgenija Korne, representative of the Latvian Border Guard Service, told ELTA that this decision was made, because the father presented the child"s patronage document.

Rinau arrived to Germany with his daughter on Tuesday afternoon.
