Latvia establishes diplomatic relations with Grenada

On 19 September in New York, diplomatic relations were established between the Republic of Latvia and Grenada, LETA was informed by the Foreign Ministry's press and information department.

A Joint Communiqué on establishing diplomatic relations between both countries was signed by Latvian Ambassador to the United Nations Normans Penke and by the ambassador of Grenada to the United Nations Dessima M. Williams.

 

The ambassadors of both countries expressed satisfaction at the establishing of diplomatic relations, which will promote bilateral relations and cooperation in the framework of international organizations.

 

During their meeting, the ambassadors discussed political, economic and cultural developments of both countries, the possibilities for developing bilateral cooperation in these spheres, as well as within the United Nations, and exchanged views on the issues on the agenda of the United Nations.
