The Register of Enterprises of Latvia on Tuesday refused to register political party "Honor to Serve Riga" (Gods kalpot Rigai).

The registration of the party was declined because of several shortcomings ascertained the party's charter presented to the Register of Enterprises, as the register's head Lilita Strode told LETA. The party was given three months to eliminate these shortcomings and submit the documents repeatedly.

As reported, "Honor to Serve Riga", an organization established by the former Latvia's First Party/Latvia's Way (LPP/LC) member Andris Ameriks and later renamed a "local-patriotic" regional political party, was officially established on March 17.

Riga Deputy Mayor Andris Ameriks was unanimously elected party chairman. The party's board is made up of almost all former LPP/LC members working in the Riga City Council – Riga City Council's Housing and Environment Committee Chairman and Rigas siltums heat supply company council chairman Vjaceslavs Stepanenko, Riga Tourism Development Bureau board member Vita Jermolovica, Riga City Council's Security, Public Order and Corruption Prevention Committee Chairman Dainis Turlais, Education, Culture and Sports Committee Chairwoman Eizenija Aldermane, committee members Andris Berzins, Irina Vinnika, Mihails Gavrilovs, Getlini EKO waste management company's board member Raimonds Timma, Christian Parishes Task Force head Janis Smits, Riga's Eastern Region Management Directorate Executive Director Dmitrijs Pavlovs.

The other "Honor to Serve Riga" board members are also former LPP/LC members: Riga City Council's Executive Director Juris Radzevics, former Children and Family Affairs Minister Ainars Bastiks, Rigas karte (Riga Map) board member Aleksandrs Brandavs, Riga Classical High School Principal Romans Alijevs, Riga City Council's Property Department Director Olegs Burovs, Mix Media Group owner Andrejs Feldmanis, former Riga City Council member Sarmite Pika, former Saeima and Riga City Council member Andrejs Pozarnovs, Latvian Baptist Parishes' Association Executive Director Inga Zinge-Pupina, head of Ameriks' bureau at the Riga City Council Rudite Leitena.

For the next Riga City Council elections, "Honor to Serve Riga" could have a joint ticket with Harmony Center candidates.
