Estonia ranks 22nd in the global foreign investments list; ahead of Lithuania nd Latvia

Estonia ranks 22nd in the global incoming foreign investments index compiled by the United Nations, writes LETA/Postimees Online. Lithuania ranks 117th and Latvia 134th.

Last week UNCTAD published this year’s global investments report, ranking 141 countries according to the incoming foreign investments.
The index contains the ratio between two indicators – the country’s share in global foreign investment flows and the share of its GDP in the global economy.
The list that is based on the 2009 data is headed by Luxembourg and other Top 5 countries are Cyprus, Congo, Hong Kong and Angola. Estonia ranks 22nd, Russia 57th, Finland 112th, Lithuania 117th and Latvia 134th.
In 2008, Estonia ranked 37th in the list, in 2007 17th while in 2005 it was third.
