GEFCO Kazakhstan signs an agreement with the Kazakh railway operator

GEFCO has signed an agreement, which is valid indefinitely, with the Kazakh railway operator (Kazakh Temir Zholy), allowing it to develop its railway service while benefiting from better operations management and competitive prices. Since June 2014, GEFCO Kazakhstan has offered a new railway service aimed at manufacturers, car importers, and companies in the FMCG sector. GEFCO operates daily, weekly and monthly transportation services according to the customer's needs, from Europe, Russia and China, reported BC Dita Bukovska from company.

"This new railway transport service is a major step forward for GEFCO Kazakhstan. It will contribute to the development of rail traffic in this strategic region while allowing us to conquer new markets in a variety of business sectors", said Emil Ashuraliev, Managing Director of GEFCO Kazakhstan.

 

 

GEFCO Romania extends its partnership with the manufacturer Timken

GEFCO Romania has been working with Timken, a global manufacturer and supplier of roller bearings and industrial parts, since 2008, and is set to continue this by rolling-out a new range of air and sea transport services for this customer.  GEFCO thus transports raw materials from North America to the Timken site in Ploiesti, 50 km north of Bucharest. GEFCO also handles the weekly delivery of finished products for Timken's international customers, from Romania to China, India, Singapore and the United States.

 

 "During the six years of this partnership, GEFCO has been able to provide a personalised response to Timken's needs, enabling it to ensure that supply chain operates smoothly. Our stringent working methods and constant monitoring of performance indicators have been the deciding factors in the success of this partnership", stated Christophe de Korver, Managing Director of GEFCO Romania.

 

 

GEFCO Dubai renews its partnership with GK Automotive

GEFCO Dubai has announced the extension of its contract with GK Automotive, the exclusive distributor for the Hyundai brand in Iraq, for a further three years. As part of this agreement, GEFCO handles the arrival of vehicles from Korea, their storage at its site in Jebel Ali (south-west of Dubai), as well as customs clearance and their distribution in Iraq. Since its opening in 2012, GEFCO Dubai has strengthened its presence in the Middle East in order to develop exchanges with China, and Western and Eastern Europe.

GEFCO China, logistics provider to Volkswagen

In China, GEFCO has signed a contract with Volkswagen to guarantee the distribution of imported vehicles for the Skoda and Volkswagen brands. The subsidiary receives cars from the ports of Shanghai and Tianjin, located in the east of the country, and guarantees their delivery to some 150 dealerships throughout China, including those in hard-to-access zones like Tibet and the Xinjiang region, in the north-west of the country.
