This is going to be the second Subway in Latvia. It is located at 6 Merkela Street, in a space of 149 square meters.

Press representatives are urged to attend the opening ceremony at 10 a.m., founders of SUB Latvia indicate, adding that politician Ainars Slesers (United for Latvia) promised to attend the ceremony as well.

As reported, the first Subway fast-food restaurant was opened in Riga on June 27. Subway offers only healthy and fresh sandwiches, omitting foods like fries.

The first Subway started operating on 12 Zigfrida Annas Meierovica Boulevard; its size – 111 square meters.

Subway had opened up a restaurant in Old Town in the late 1990s but eventually closed.

Over the past two years, Subway has been opening about 500 new restaurants in Europe annually. Next year, Subway is planning to open 800 to 1,000 new restaurants in Europe.
