In Spain, GEFCO has launched a new FVL (Finished Vehicles Logistics) rail transport service, thus consolidating its position as a major player in multimodal transport in the countries of the Iberian Peninsula.
Initially, there will be two trains a week with a facility for tracking goods in real time available via a dedicated Internet portal. The system was first introduced for PSA Peugeot Citroën, in conjunction with the transport services operating from Vigo and Barcelona to the south of France. Over the coming weeks, GEFCO Spain will be extending this service to its other customers to run alongside its road service in the region.
"With the launch of this new service, not only has GEFCO Spain demonstrated that it is a first class logistics provider for the automotive industry, offering the best possible geographical coverage, it has also shown that it is a service provider which is dedicated to helping its customers achieve their environmental goals by reducing CO2 emissions through the use of multimodal transport“, insists Lourdes Soto, FVL (Finished Vehicles Logistics) Manager at GEFCO Spain.
