Latvia opens honorary consulate in Brazilian Nova Odessa

Print versionThis past Saturday, December 14, Ambassador-at-Large Rolands Lappuke opened Latvia's Honorary Consulate in Nova Odessa, Brazil, the Foreign Ministry informed LETA.

The consulate will be headed by South American Latvian Community Chairwoman Daina Gutmanis.
Nova Odessa and Sao Paulo politicians, business, cultural and academic communities' representatives also took part in the event. Latvia's Honorary Consulate in Nova Odessa is important for expanding cooperation with the Latvian community in Brazil and facilitating Latvian-Brazilian cooperation in business, culture and education.
Latvian Ambassador to Brazil Alda Vanaga resides in Lisbon, Portugal.
