Tallinn is a good place for holiday rest, situated in the Baltic Sea region, luring with affordable dining and cultural events, Tallinn Tourism Board said in a statement referring to European Cities Marketing Benchmarking Report 2012-2013, cites LETA.

In comparison to the summer of 2012, Tallinn improved its tourist figures by four% between June and August this year.

Throughout this period, the local accommodation industry welcomed 535,400 tourists, 92% of whom were international visitors, with 77% stopping for a holiday and 20% – for business reasons.

Altogether 954,200 nights were spent in Tallinn accommodation establishments, increasing the turnover by 8%. Cruise tourism was equally successful this summer, bringing over 378,000 visitors to Tallinn.

The report compares the prices of many widely consumed products in different European cities. The subsequent data reflects that a restaurant meal in Tallinn comes at 2.5 times cheaper than in Helsinki, while classical music concerts cost 1.8% less than the European average. Museum tickets on average cost about 1.3% less in Tallinn than in other European cities. The data also shows that Tallinn is a great destination for families and backpackers with only a few other European cities beating Tallinn's zoo entry and Big Mac Meal prices.
