Interactive program to help Europe discover Lithuania

BC, Vilnius, 06.11.2013.Print version
The VIALITHUANIA interactive programme presenting Lithuania's connections to EU countries was created under the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This interactive programme reveals historic and cultural relations of Lithuania to the 27 countries of the EU, the website eu2013.lt informs.

"The VIALITHUANIA interactive programme not only presents Lithuania to Europe, but by using connections to all the EU countries, it helps them get to know it better as well. We hope that this programme will be useful as teaching material for pupils, students, tourists and anyone interested in Lithuania and the European Union," said the media representative for the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council, Rasa Jakilaitiene.

One of the most important elements of VIALITHUANIA is its interactivity: every user of this tool will be able to suggest their own unexpected and undiscovered connections, which will be uploaded into the programme, thereby supplementing the information on the interrelation of the European Union and Lithuania.

Content of the VIALITHUANIA interactive programme is available in both Lithuanian and English. The mobile version of the programme is created for Android and iOS mobile device platforms. Moreover, there is a special version of the programme adapted for regular internet browsers, which can be accessed via vialithuania.eu. Mobile version of VIALITHUANIA can be downloaded free of charge from the official programme distributors Google Play and iTunes.

This programme was created in the framework of the European Union project Stimulating Lithuanian Networking in EU Structures. VIALITHUANIA, the interactive tool project, was implemented by Dizaino Kryptis.

The guests of the largest European information and communication technologies event ICT2013: Create, Connect, Grow will become the first users of the programme. On November 6-8 nearly 5000 participants from around the world will gather at the LITEXPO Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre.
