Food Union ice cream sales in Latvia exceeded expectations by 4% in summer

Print versionDairy conglomerate Food Union sold more than 3,600 tons of ice cream during the summer season (May-August), 4% more than planned and 21% more than last year, LETA/Nozare.lv was informed by the company's representative Dmitrijs Dokins.

69% of Food Union ice cream was sold in Latvia, 31% – exported to Russia, Lithuania, Estonia and other countries. Demand grew for all brands. "Ekselence" and "Pols" were the main driving forces behind the company's sales this summer.
Food Union aims to become the main supplier of Latvian ice cream in the Baltic States and Russia. The company invested LVL 900,000 in improving its ice cream products this year.
Food Union currently employs 800 persons. The company turns over EUR 100 million (LVL 70 million) each year.
