Air Lituanica scheduled its first flight to Brussels on June 30, this way symbolically reminding of the commencing Lithuanian presidency of the European Union. On July 8, 2013 the Schiphol airport in Amsterdam greeted the passengers of the first Air Lituanica flight from Vilnius with the traditional red tulips.
The new route is aimed not only at business and leisure travelers seeking to discover one of the most beautiful and liberal capitals of Europe but also to those passengers who are looking for more convenient connecting flights to various destinations all over the world.
In cooperation with the Royal Dutch Airlines KLM, Air Lituanica now offers almost 100 routes worldwide.
"The first flight was a clear indicator that the route to Amsterdam would be much appreciated by travelers looking for more convenient connecting flights. Via the Shiphol airport passengers flew to Paris, Brussels, Madrid, Luxemburg, Bordeaux and Lyon. Meanwhile, the returning flight to Vilnius was full of travellers coming back from Dubai, Marseille, Paris and Cologne’, said the CCO of Air Lituanica Simonas Bartkus.
Air Lituanica will fly to Amsterdam every day and carry its passengers to the Dutch capital in a 76-seater Embraer 170. The plane will take off at Vilnius airport early in the morning (6:25 am) and head back from Amsterdam to Vilnius at 10 am each day.
Currently Air Lituanica offers daily flights to Brussels and Amsterdam. For the added convenience of its passengers, from the 5th of August the airline will add a new route to Berlin.
In 2015, Air Lituanica plans to have five aircrafts and to expand up to 13-16 regular routes. The company expects to conduct flights in all directions on a daily basis or several times a week.
