The second most expensive real estate property sold last year was a 510 square meter land plot at Kalku Street 3A. It was purchased by Norde Finance Group, a company owned by Belize's offshore NPS ImpEx Inc, for LVL 4.95 million and sold by 555 Brand Hotel, owned by Britain's Upmax Trading Limited.
The purchase of Elefant Hotel was the third most expensive real estate transaction last year. It amounted to LVL 4.4 million and was made by "Latvia Hotel Invest", owned by Cyprus' offshore Nolefe Enterprises Limited. Elefant was sold by Ektornet Commercial Latvia, a company selling the property of Swedbank debtors.
35 real estate transactions above LVL 1 million were registered in Riga last year, including 13 above LVL 2 million, according to the Land Register's data.
