Google Maps applies Traffic function to Baltic capitals

Print versionAfter introducing Street View function to Vilnius' Google Maps in February, search engine powerhouse Google has unveiled a new service for Vilnius' streets – Traffic, reports LETA/ELTA, referring to Vilnius Municipality.

This overlay allows users to access real-time traffic information for Vilnius' busiest streets. The service will help Vilnius residents circumvent traffic jams and more accurately plan out their trips' durations. Vilnius is the first city in Lithuania to implement this service.
The service has been implemented in Riga and Tallinn as well.
The data will be available on smartphone apps as well, allowing drivers to avoid traffic in real time.
