"This August our management – the Board Members of a company Vaassan – approved a development plan worth 35 million litas," said Ryta Ramanauskaine, Director General of Vilniaus Duona, in an interview Verslo Zinios.

Bread loafs produced by Vilniaus Duona in Lithuania are exported to neighboring countries Estonia and Latvia; where bakeries of the associated company Vaasan is located.

The company's director noted that they target also Poland's market where consumers would be greatly interested in Lithuanian bread, and Russia's market; the company also eyes emigrant communities in Norway, Ireland and the USA.

As reported, starting from October 6, the bakery Vilniaus Duona has started offering the most popular bakery products to retailers cheaper by 14% as the company reached an agreement on lower flour supply prices.

The agreement with flour suppliers will allow reducing the prime cost of various wheat and rye-bread products, the lower prices are also expected to remain unchanged next year, CEO of Vilniaus Duona Rita Ramanauskaite said.
