Japanese want to conquer Russia via Estonia

Print versionA business delegation of the Japanese Foreign Trade Organisation (JETRO) is on a visit to Estonia on Monday and Tuesday at the invitation of the Enterprise Estonia, to find out if they could conquer the Russian market via Estonia, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

Estonian Logistics Cluster has tried to attract the JETRO delegation to Estonia since the cluster was created in 2010. The interest of the Japanese increased considerably when Mitsubishi decided to start exporting equipment and spare parts to its Russian plants via Estonia.
Yamaha Motors is also considering transporting equipment and spare parts via Estonia to Russia. Hitatchi High-Tech Moscow office deputy president Hiroki Miyamoto said that the company is considering the advantages of the Tallinn and Riga ports for transport of high-tech equipment.
