The Estonia-founded startup GrabCAD sealed a 6.5-million-euro investment deal with private equity firm Charles River Ventures earlier this week, the Estonian national broadcasting corporation ERR reported.

Based out of Boston with a 13-member software development team in Estonia, GrabCAD offers a program that assists engineers with computer-aided design (CAD) drafting technology, writes LETA.

The company says it is expanding by developing a service that allows engineers, clients and producers to meet and view projects over the internet.

Development Director of GrabCAD Kristina Narusk said the company wants to double or triple its Tallinn personnel in the next six months.

Founded in 1970, Charles River Ventures is an early-stage venture capital fund that takes a value-added, hands-on approach to support its portfolio companies.

CRV is dedicated to helping exceptional entrepreneurs turn their ideas into the next category leaders in high growth technology and media sectors, as information on its website says.

CRV has offices in Boston, MA and Menlo Park, CA.
