Swedish car safety equipment producer Autoliv started moving its metal components plant from Germany to Estonia at the beginning of the year, expanding its activities here, LETA/Äripäev.ee reports.

Autoliv announced in August last year that it would close two plants in Germany, Norderstedt and Rellingen, leaving 153 people without a job. It started moving production to Tallinn at the start of this year. "Moving production to Estonia is useful since Norma has unique technology and production knowledge," said Autoliv's communications manager Henrik Kaar.

Kaar said that so far 60 new jobs have been created in Estonia and they are looking for 20 engineers more, writes LETA.
