Estonian national carrier Estonian Air sold twice more tickets via its website in the first two months of this year as compared to the last year, the company said in a statement. The biggest growth in terms of who make their purchases through Estonian Air website show Norwegians, Russians and Finns.

"We have done several improvements to our website, which makes the booking easier, faster and cheaper. Our website is a great addition to the travel agency and corporate travel sales. In fact, we have a new tool for Small and Medium size Enterprises which have proven to be popular," says Tero Taskila, the CEO of Estonian Air, writes LETA.

"It is great to see that people use the website to book connecting flights as well. We see that people buy tickets for example from Jyväskylä via Tallinn to Moscow, Vilnius, Vienna and to Riga. That is a great testament that our new business model is working," continues Tero Taskila.

Estonian Air provides now a possibility to use the website, next to Estonian, English and Russian, also in Finnish and Swedish.

Estonian Air offers business travelers and tourists direct flights from Tallinn to European cities. The national airline of Estonia focuses on improving flight connections between Estonia and the rest of the world in order to become more competitive as a regional airline with an extensive flight network. This year Estonia Air will launch new routes and add extra flights to the most important European cities as well as less known regional centers in the Nordic countries.

Estonian Air currently offers direct flights to 24 destinations in Europe, Scandinavia and CIS countries. The airline recently announced the new destinations it will fly to from spring, incl. Helsinki, Riga, Jyväskylä, Hannover, Vienna, Venice, Joensuu, Kajaani and Tbilisi. The prices of one-way tickets from Tallinn start at 39.90 euros if the ticket is purchased on Estonian Air's website at www.estonian-air.ee.

Estonian Air is the National Partner of the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Finland.
