Ryanair, the world’s favourite airline, 26th March celebrated the start of summer 2012 schedule at Tallinn airport. Ryanair had earlier announced two new summer routes from Tallinn to Manchester and Frankfurt Hahn. The route to Manchester opened yesterday with two weekly flights on Mondays and Fridays, making the destination ideal for both short weekend breaks and longer stays. The second new route to Frankfurt Hahn will commence tomorrow 27th of March with three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

In addition to the two new routes Ryanair will continue its popular routes from Tallinn to Bremen, Dublin, Dusseldorf Weeze, Girona Barcelona, London Luton, Milan Bergamo, Oslo Rygge and Stockholm Skavsta. In total Ryanair will operate 10 routes to/from Tallinn and expects to carry up to 400,000 p.a. sustaining around 400 jobs in the tourism sector in the Tallinn region.

In honour of the commencement of the summer schedule and the inaugural flight to/from Manchester a small celebration was held at Tallinn airport earlier this morning. Ryanair and Tallinn airport offered football themed cake to all departing passengers on the first Manchester flight and the arriving passengers from Manchester were welcomed by some traditional Estonian sweets.

To celebrate the start of summer schedule at Tallinn airport, Ryanair has also launched a €5 seat sale for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in May. These “all in” low fares seats will be available on over 1,000 of Ryanair’s European routes, including Tallinn-Frankfurt/Oslo/Stockholm, but must be booked on Ryanair.com before midnight tonight 26th of March.

In Tallinn airport, Ryanair’s Nordic & Baltic Sales & Marketing Executive Elina Hakkarainen said:

“We are delighted to celebrate the start of summer schedule and the two new routes from Tallinn to Manchester and Frankfurt Hahn. With 10 routes in total we are expecting to carry up to 400,000 passengers in Tallinn p.a. and sustaining around 400 jobs in the tourism sector in the region. 2011 was our first full year at Tallinn airport and clearly a success in terms of passenger/tourist numbers for Ryanair, Tallinn airport and the city of Tallinn. We are hoping that this success continues in 2012 and are looking forward to our cooperation with Tallinn airport.”

“By choosing Ryanair’s low fares, Estonian consumers/visitors can beat the recession and escape both Estonian Air’s and airBaltic’s high fares and instead enjoy our no fuel surcharge guarantee and Europe’s No.1 on-time performance to 10 exciting destinations in Germany, Italy, Spain among others.”
