Number of Lithuanian tourists going abroad increased by 9.2% in Q4

According to the provisional data of Statistics Lithuania, in Q4 of 2011, number of tourists going abroad increased by 9.2% compared to the same period in 2010.

In Q4, 2011 273.3 tourists went abroad. 55% of tourists said that they spent their nights at their relatives or friends' houses, or private sector, while 40% chose hotels and motels, writes LETA/ELTA.

 

Number of foreign travels in 2011, Q4, compared to the same period in 2010 increased by 9.9%. Lithuanian tourists went to 334.5 thousand travels.

 

In 2011, Q4 tourists abroad spent LTL 500.9 million (EUR 143 million) or by 12% more than during same period in 2010.

 

Last year, in Q4 most of the tourists went to Belarus (47.3 thousand or 14.1%), the UK (40.6 thousand or 12.1%), Latvia (40.4 thousand or 7.9%), Poland (25.6 thousand or 7.6%) and to Germany (21.5 thousand or 6.4%).

 

A number of Lithuanian tourists' foreign travels in 2011 stood at 1.5 million and, compared to 2010, increased by 8.2%.
