Estonian hotel managers say that hotels are sold out and Russian-style New Year's parties lie ahead as thousands of Russian tourists are expected to visit Estonia at the end of the old and beginning of the new year 2012, Äripäev.ee/LETA writes.

According to Enterprise Estonia foundation, at least 20,000 Russian tourists are expected to visit Estonia. Every Russian tourist will spend an average of 310 EUR here.

Laulasmaa Spa sales department head Kaisa Mailend said that the majority of clients at New Year's Eve are from Russia but there are also local people and some tourists from Sweden. She said that Russian Christmas at the beginning of January is even more popular among Russian tourists.

Russian tourism companies offer a New Year's spa vacation in the Toila Spa in North East Estonia; its sales manager Merike Kivisaar-Sander said that 85% of the hotel's guests at New Year's Eve and the start of January are Russian tourists.

Tallinn's Meriton Grand Conference & Spa hotel Russian market sales manager Sergei Drobjatski said that the hotel is booked full for New Years' Eve and the majority of guests are Russian tourists, thus the party will also be in Russian.

Tallinn's Radisson Blue Hotel Olümpia sales and marketing manager Vitali Makejev said that their New Year's Eve party is also in Russian and meant for Russian tourists. He said that out of the 390 rooms in the hotel around 10 will be vacant for New Year's Eve.

Since a record number of Russian tourists are expected, Estonian Air will make 9 extra flights to Moscow and back instead of the 6 announced earlier.

Go Rail that operates Tallinn-Moscow trains has announced that a special train is on the route on December 31 and January 3.
