A new container ship MS Bentonville started sailing the Antwerp-Bremerhaven-Gdynia-Klaipeda route from mid October 2011. It has made a stop near Klaipeda Smelte berths, the maritime news portal Jura reports.

The ship containing 4504 TEU capacity, 294 meters long and 32 meters wide is currently the largest feeder (short distance) container ship in Europe, informs LETA.

When fully loaded, it reaches the draft of 11.9 meters. The ship can develop the speed up to 28.5 knots (about 53 miles per hour). It will visit the port of Klaipeda regularly every thirteen days.

Klaipeda hosted MS Bentonville on November 13.
