Tele2 revenue in Lithuania grew by 2.4% in Q3; in Estonia growth made 33%

In the third quarter of 2011, the telecoms company Tele2 earned revenues of LTL 126.7 million (EUR 36.68 million) in Lithuania, an annual increase of 2.4%. Tele2 Estonia earned a profit before taxes of 7.4 million euros in the third quarter, a growth of 33% from the same time last year.

The Sweden-based company's EBITDA totaled LTL 46.6 million (EUR 13.49 million) over the said period, which made growth of 3.2% year-on-year, Tele2 Lithuania said in a statement.

 

In the Q3, Tele2 increased its number of clients from 1.684 million to 1.724 million, writes LETA/ELTA.

 

Over the three past quarters, Tele2 reached revenues of nearly LTL 354 million (EUR 102.49 million). Over the said period last year, the revenues stood at LTL 352 million (EUR 101.9 million).

 

Since January 2011, Tele2 set up 200 new base stations.

 

Currently, Tele2 operates the second-largest 3G network in Lithuania.

 

Mobile network operator Tele2 Estonia earned a profit before taxes (EBITDA) of 7.4 million euros in the third quarter, a growth of 33% from the same time lats year, LETA/Äripäev Online reports.

 

The turnover of the company grew 7% from the same time last year.

 

The number of mobile network clients of Tele2 Estonia grew in the third quarter by 17,000 or 4% to 489,000 at the end of September. Tele2 Estonia is part of the international Tele2 AB concern.
