Representatives of the Estonian National Broadcasting are currently in negotiations in order to get its TV programming transmitted in Sweden via cable TV operators, writes LETA/Postimees Online.

Margus Allikmaa, the CEO of the National Broadcasting, stated that the process is still in the negotiations phase and there is no fixed time-line for achieving the desired result.

“Everything is still in the stage of negotiations. The initiative came from the Swedish cable operators,” he commented.

“We have granted UBOS the authority to represent us in Sweden and to negotiate with ten Swedish cable operators,” said Allikmaa. According to him, lengthy and complicated negotiations and the procedure for approvals is still ahead and nothing will be certain before these stages are completed.

Allikmaa stated that the Estonian National Broadcasting is interested in spreading as widely as possible. “We already transmit our own productions across the world – via the internet,” he explained.
