The Tere Dairy Industry is hoping to export its products to Arabic countries, to Asia and Latin America, selling powder products made in Põlva, writes LETA/National Broadcasting.

Thus far the dairy powders have been exported to Egypt, Thailand and to South Korea. At the end of June, Tere will prepare its first batch to be sent to Venezuela and is also hoping to reach Indonesia and Malaysia in near future.

Tere’s exports manager Nikolai Timofejev stated that products with long preservation time will be exported to Islamic countries.

Whey powder in 25-kilo packs were dispatched to Egypt, Thailand and South Korea, used by local entrepreneurs, such as ice-cream makers or pastry chefs.

In order to export to Islamic countries, Tere applied for the Halal certificate, granted to products that are prepared in conjunction with Islamic customs and are therefore suitable to Muslim consumers. In addition to whey powder, Tere’s skimmed milk powder, buttermilk powder, acidified butter and fresh cream butter also received the certificate.
