Latvia's timber export reached LVL 274.802 mln in Q1; growths 33%

Print versionIn the first quarter of 2011, Latvia's timber export amounted to LVL 274.802 million, according to data from the Agriculture Ministry's Forest Resource Department.

Latvia exported LVL 241.282 million worth of timber products in the first three months of 2011, which is 33% more than over the same period last year, informs LETA.
Sawn timber and round timber accounted for the largest share of Latvia's timber export and amounted to LVL 62.1 million and LVL 36.326 million respectively.
Sweden, Germany and Great Britain were the main export markets for Latvian timber. In the first quarter of 2011, Latvia exported LVL 45.549 million worth of timber to Sweden (18% of the total export), LVL 33.183 million to Germany (12.1%), and LVL 29.953 million to Great Britain (10.9%).
