McDonald’s to open three new fast-food establishments in Latvia in 2011

U.S. fast food giant McDonald’s plans to open three new restaurants in Latvia in 2011, as well as invest EUR 7 million (LVL 4.9 million) in the development of the McDonald’s fast chain in Latvia, Viktors Tedesko, spokesman for Premier Restaurants Latvia, McDonald’s representative in Latvia, told the business information portal Nozare.lv.

McDonald’s will also renovate its "Main Station" restaurant on Merkela Street and "Daugava" restaurant on Krasta Street.

 

During the second half of the year, the company will open two new "McDrive" restaurants in Riga's Pardaugava, writes LETA.

 

McDonald’s also plans to open its first fast-food establishment outside Riga, marking the company's expansion in the regions. McDonald’s has already announced that its first restaurant outside Latvia's capital will be in Daugavpils.

 

As reported, Premier Restaurants Latvia, the owner and operator of McDonalds and "McCafe" fast-food establishments in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Malta, earned LVL 450,766 in profit in 2009, according to the Register of Enterprises' Lursoft database.

 

The company's turnover reached LVL 9,385,052.
