Compared to the beginning of 2010, the demand for flowers bought online has increased 22%.
Florens International owner Aris Meilands said that the demand has grown not only due to the popularity of the modern technologies, but also due to the fact that many residents have left Latvia to work abroad, and this is the only way how they can congratulate their loved ones.
The demand from enterprises has also considerably increased.
Valentine's Day and March 8 are the busiest days for flower vendors, when the demand grows 30-50 times. On Mother's Day, the demand increases 20 times, said Meilands.
People usually order flowers online for birthdays, job anniversaries, love confessions and suchlike. Many people also send flowers to apologize and make amends with their loved ones.
