The World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) conference took place in Tallinn at Sokos Hotel Viru on January 29 – February 04 and was attended by 165 visitors from all over the world, Estonian Convention Bureau reported.

The delegates who attended the conference are the most active and influential representatives of professional guides from around the globe, informs LETA.

In putting together the program for the conference the organizers sought to provide the participants with the latest information, the best experiences and of course the chance to get to know everything Estonia has to offer as a tourist destination.

The overall theme of the Tallinn conference was 'Culture as an all-encompassing guide'. The presentations and workshops that were held at the conference focused on cultural phenomena that may distinguish one country and its people from another, but also bring them together. This primarily means enhancing the skill of guides to offer information in the best possible way to be accepted and experienced by clients.

The theme chosen for the conference is, of course, also related to Tallinn's status as European Capital of Culture in 2011.
