“The first 15 parcel terminals will be installed in the shopping centres in Helsinki’s vicinity and in the stores of the Prisma retail chain,” said Aku Happo, parcel service manager of Itella Post.
“Reading in the media recently that the number of Finnish tourists is increasing again and how many people from Estonia go to work in Finland, we have reason to hope that the parcel service between Estonia and Finland will be very popular,” said Itella SmartPost’s CEO Risto Eelmaa, adding that the nearly 800 retailers, clients of SmartPost, can thus also expand to Finland.
Eelmaa said that in Estonia over 144,000 clients have used SmartPost and they have around 21% market share of Estonian private individuals parcel mailing market.
