Latvian stock market index was fourth fastest growing in EU and tenth in the world in 2010

In 2010, the NASDAQ OMX Baltic stock market index was one of the fastest growing indexes in the world.

Baltic stock exchange index "Baltic Benchmark" rose 69.83% in 2010, whereas "NASDAQ OMX Riga" stock index was fourth fastest growing in Europe, increasing 41.08% last year, "NASDAQ OMX Riga" Communication Department's head Aris Dreimanis told business portal "Nozare.lv".
The "OMX Riga" index was also tenth fastest growing index in the world, informs LETA/ELTA.
"OMX Tallinn" stock index rose 72.62%, and that of "OMX Vilnius" – 56.49%.
The number of deals on the Baltic stock exchanges last year was larger than that in 2009, whereas stock turnover almost returned to the 2009 level, reaching EUR 488 million altogether.
