Road Traffic Safety Directorate's of EV charging stations becomes fully operational in Latvia

The Road Traffic Safety Directorate's network of electric vehicle charging stations is now fully operational; the network includes a total of seventy charging stations, the directorate informed LETA.

The first round of the Road Traffic Safety Directorate's network of EV charging stations, a project implemented with support from the European Regional Development Fund, covers the main national highways, cities and towns.
According to the Road Traffic Safety Directorate, users can pay for charging their automobiles with the e-mobi card, which they can apply for on http://portal.e-mobi.lv, as well as by SMS messages.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers' decision of June 12, charging an automobile at an EV charging station costs EUR 0.15 per minute.
Overall, 150 EV charging stations are to be installed in Latvia. The total cost of the project, co-financed by the ERDF, is EUR 8.34 million.
