Briedis beats Huck for WBC cruiserweight belt

Print version Latvian boxer Mairis Briedis defeated Marco Huck (Germany) to take the WBC cruiserweight title on Saturday, reports LETA.

Both fighters gave their all but Briedis was clearly the better fighter. The bout went to the judges' scorecards, who scored it 116-111, 117-110, 118-109 for Briedis.
Briedis has improved his record to 22 wins zero losses, with 18 knockouts.
This is the first time ever that a Latvian boxer becomes a world champion in professional boxing.
